This week I decided to finish something that I started like last year. Micah cut down the wood, then I sanded and painted the edges. Then I used mod podge to put the scrapbook paper on. Then I went over to one of my scrapbooking sister's house and cut out the letters then pulled out the mod podge again. They can say lots of fun things and I love the colors. This is what it will say for the next little bit.

My first refashion

Well I love looking at sewing blogs and love looking at refashions. I've done a few before, mostly turning dresses into skirts. But this is my first one in quite awhile. This shirt I found at the DI and I really liked the tie around the top. However once I tried it on, I realized it was a bit boxy and it has sat in my closet for a few months, never worn. So I have another shirt that inspired me to change this one. This is what I came up with.

Sorry about the photos, I'm not used to taking my own picture. Anyway I just measure evenly up from the bottom and sewed around using elastic. I'll totally wear this now!

Rolls, Rolls, Rolls

A few weeks ago our neighbor taught a class in our Ward on how to make rolls. I had tried them before and went to class to see what I could do to make them better. Well I tried a few varieties and they were all so good. We couldn't eat them fast enough.

Fabric Bracelet

I had so much fun last week making the headbands that I thought I would try it on a bracelet. I liked how it turned out and I think I might make a few more of these.
It looks cuter on, the flowers go all the way around.

Fabric Headbands

My sister was over for the holidays and she had this really cute headband. She told me how much she paid and I wasn't interested, so we made some of our own. My sister, Katelin, wanted more vintage inspired fabrics so this is what we came up with.

New Year's Resolution

I wanted to start this blog as a way to keep track of some projects I've been working on and don't always get around to finishing. This year I thought if I could just finish one a week that would be good. Last year I started sewing a bit more consistenly. I'd like to keep that up so I think this is a good way. And there are tons of new projects I've seen that I'd like to try to so here I go.
